Paddle beneath the gaze of the grand Castlewellan Castle, once a hub of aristocratic life under Lord and Lady Annesley. Steeped in rich heritage, the lake and its surroundings hold stories that span Irish and world history, waiting to be discovered as you glide across the water.
After working up a thirst, land on Paddy’s Island to enjoy a warm welcome and a tasting of locally distilled gins, courtesy of the award-winning Killowen Distillery. It’s a true taste of the Geopark’s artisan spirit—literally and figuratively.
No prior experience? No problem. Our friendly guides provide all the equipment, instruction, and encouragement you need to confidently enjoy this unique watersport.
